Additional info: The Flayed Angel was influenced by a reference image that “Lee” Alexander McQueen turned to for inspiration time and again and is inspired by the Victorian anatomical illustrations of Jacques-Fabien Gautier.
This image became the starting reference for Gary James McQueen’s first digital fashion collection “Guiding Light”, and as a nod to his late uncle, was incorporated into the show in various ways forming part of the set aesthetic and also interpreted as a sculptural military jacket as part of the collection.
The Flayed Angel is now available as a limited edition lenticular artwork presented as a 3D turntable reminiscent of the Dutch Masters.
