Collection Note:

Slim Aarons’s lush photographs immortalize mid-century luxury. Poolside Pairs, one of the artist’s most well known images, features fashion models Helen Dzo Dzo and Nelda Linsk at a house in palm springs built for philanthropist Edgar J. Kaufmann and designed by Modernist Architect Richard Neutra. The renowned Kaufmann Desert House is one of the most famous houses in Palm Springs, and hosted events such as a Pucci fashion show that was staged in the garden with Helen Dzo Dzo as a featured model.

Aarons also photographed cultural icons such as the Kennedys, Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, and Grace Kelly, and worked as a photographer for magazines including Life and Vogue.
